Expanding its ongoing work in Punjab with the support of its CSR partner Max India Foundation, Routes 2 Roots has made a foray into the schools of the rural areas of the state by creating digital classrooms with the installation of Interactive Flat Panels there. While many schools have been regularly initiated from time to time into the program of digital education of performing arts from Punjab, this time the expansion has been directed towards the rural regions. In order to include the rural students of the state to the gamut and enhance their quality of education, the NGO has installed state-of-the-art, 75-inch smart Interactive Flat Panels in schools. With the addition of these schools, the total number of institutions digitised in Punjab now stands at 140. In addition to giving the beneficiaries access to the cultural education provided by the faculty of Routes 2 Roots in 16 different disciplines of performing arts, these panels also give exposure to K-12 content with 50,000 instructional videos and 100,000 questions and answers. The initiative aims to enhance the educational experience of students in rural areas by bringing their facilities at par with the modern schools in the state. The technical team of the NGO also spent days training the staff of the recipient schools to run the equipment effectively and receive the live classes for the benefit of students. The equipment and the education is being provided to the schools and students completely free of cost.
