The Delhi Teachers University (DTU) held a special function to celebrate and honour
educators on 5th September on the occasion of Teachers Day for which they invited Routes 2
Roots founders Tina Vachani and Rakesh Gupta. The program was a unique gala, which
began with the ceremonial honouring of the teachers with mementos. This was followed by
delightful cultural performances by first year students who were also joined by the
community children of the adjoining slum, which has been adopted by DTU to provide
education and care for the 200 children who reside in it.
Professor Dhananjay Joshi, Vice Chancellor of Delhi Teachers University, welcomed the
Routes 2 Roots founders and honoured them for their massive contribution to the
education of crores of students in the country, completely free of cost through their special
and innovative Cultural Education program.
