Routes 2 Roots NGO’s work extended to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas
(JNVs) and Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) earmarked under the Ministry of
Education, Government of India initiative & include a series of
impactful activities aimed at equipping students for the future.
Career aptitude tests were conducted at schools such as JNVs and KVs
in Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya,
Jharkhand Assam etc. Comprehensive reports were provided to teachers
for accurate student assessments with the help of advanced tools and
technology. In Cachar Assam and other schools, workshops focusing on
21st-century learning skills included creative and literary
activities, group discussions, and ICT training. These sessions
empowered students with skills critical for the modern world.
Citizenship workshops taught students about constitutional values,
while quizzes and contests further enriched their understanding of
India’s heritage.
Art and culture programs remained at the core of these sessions
organised by the NGO. The workshops included theatre, classical and
folk dance, instrumental music and sessions on 2D/3D design and
handicrafts. Special workshops on Indigenous toys brought the
essence of traditional artisanship to life. In contrast, guitar
workshops in Arunachal Pradesh (Lower Subansiri and Upper Subansiri)
and folk music sessions in Meghalaya (East Khasi Hills) highlighted
the diversity of Indian music traditions. STEM mentoring by experts
with solid professional backgrounds was another notable activity at
JNV Cachar, preparing students for promising futures in science and
technology.
