Music For Peace
Known for bringing the semi-classical Ghazals to a wider audience, the Legend Jagjit Singh and the Unparalleled Asif Mehdi, brought the beauty of their contemporary Ghazals in the capital with their concert. The theme for the evening was “Music for Peace”, where the veterans enthralled and captivated the audience with the magical notes. The concert was organized by Routes 2 Roots in association with ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations), which aims to bring the hearts of people together.
“Music knows no boundary”, the musical prodigy of Pakistan created a storm amongst the Indian masses and entranced them. Where as the legend of Indian Ghazal Maestro also gave a power house performance and the ripple effect of their music was dancing in the veins of the audience. To witness the lyrical rendezvous of the Masters of Ghazals, interminable fans turned up. A sense of elation settled amongst the audience and no one was able to stop tapping their feet or putting their hands for appreciation. On this auspicious event former diplomat Surinder Malik launched “Gumnaam”, his Urdu Ghazals in Hindi.
Four concerts were organized as follows:-
1. Show in Delhi:
The famous Ghazal Singer Jagjit Singh from India along with Asif Mehdi son of legendary Mehdi Hassan from Pakistan to perform live in Delhi Ficci Auditorium on 10th December 2009, 6:30 PM Onward.
2. Show in Hyderabad:
The famous Indian versatile Ghazal singers Bhupinder and Mittali along with Asif Mehdi from Pakistan to perform live in Hyderabad “Chowmahalla Palace” on 13th December 2009 6:30 PM Onward.
3. Show in Luckhnow:
Ghulam Sabir along with Asif Mehdi from Pakistan to perform live in Luckhnow at Sant Gadge ji Maharaj Auditorium, 15th December 2009. 6:30 PM Onward.
4. Show in Amritsar
Ustad Ahmad Hussain & Ustad Mohhamed Hussain along with Asif Mehdi from Pakistan to perform live in Amritsar at Guru Nanak University, 17th December 2009. 6:30 PM Onward.
