    Journey of Indian Cinema in Russia

    Routes 2 Roots, Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation (ROSIZO) along with Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).Ministry of External affairs, Government of India and Routes 2 Roots Delhi based NGO co-hosted  an exhibition on the Journey of Indian Cinema at several Russian Cities including the capital city of Moscow and Vladikavkaz in November 2009 in Caucasus which is famous for its Caucasian hospitality.

    This exhibition displayed a variety of exhibits like pictures, blow ups, cut-outs, collages, ornamental entry gate, background music, attractive text panels and the costumes all of which were aimed to showcase the rich, deep and unique heritage of the Indian 'Cinema spanning all the periods from silent era to the present day contemporary movies. Also short snippings of movies from the yester era to the current era were played; the exhibition was inaugurated by a yesteryear prominent star Mr. Rishi Kapoor and concluded by a fan fair current Bollywood Masala program. As Russians are well aware of the Kapoor Family due to Raj Kapoor in the movie “Mera Naam Joker” he was a rage. The Russian audience was very pleased to see him as his movie “Bobby” was a big hit in Russia. Bollywood Veteran ‘Rishi Kapoor’ will be honoured with a Citation & a Diploma for his exemplary contribution and achievement in Indian Cinema, by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation (ROSIZO)
    Routes 2 Roots also arranged to screen latest movie “Chintu Ji” produced by Bobby Bedi dubbed in Russian in Moscow and Vladikavkaz.
